"The body can achieve what the mind can believe. If you believe in yourself, as much as I believe in you, you will achieve all of your goals and do many things that you never thought were possible. Don’t put limits on yourself and don’t let others put limits on you either - it’s YOUR story and YOU are the creator." -Ray |

At the YMCA, we believe in the power of community, and we all play a vital role in ensuring each other's safety. We kindly remind everyone to drive slowly and cautiously through our crosswalks, parking lots and driveway. Not only do we have energetic children at play, but we also have members and families walking to and from our building and playground. By driving at a slower speed and being mindful of the crosswalks, you help maintain our safe and welcoming YMCA community.

"Instead of setting a short term goal, such as losing 10lbs or getting in shape for the beach, find your WHY. This will help you become the best version of yourself and give you motivation, on the days you don't want to show up. With a well defined WHY, you'll never miss a workout!" -Jon |

"Two years ago, I (Jessica) attended a conference on Emotional Poverty. The presenter shared a shocking statistic that has stuck with me as a parent and as the director of a mentoring program. 'On average, parents spend 14 minutes a day in quality conversation with their children.' I thought about this statistic in my own life and how that number can fluctuate lower or higher depending upon each child’s home situation. Many children are searching for an adult who can provide them with the undivided, positive attention that they need. This time can be spent sharing their day-to-day stories, fears, and goals and learning new skills that they can take with them through life.
The Reach & Rise® program can help to fill the gap! We are looking for positive, supportive, caring adults who have two hours a week to make a difference. Will you be that person for a child?" -Jessica Burr, Clinical Director of Reach & Rise®
| |
The Reach & Rise® youth mentoring program is a national, evidence-based program recognized by the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention program (OJJDP). We help kids learn about and manage emotions, build social skills, try new things, and develop and maintain healthy relationships. |
